Kids Say the Truest Things
Yay for rainy weather! We asked some EUSD kids, do kids act differently on rainy days?
“Yes, very differently. Very, very, very differently. Well. They act way more active than regular days.”
–PEC Kindergartener
“Probably yes because they’re always excited when it’s indoor lunch. We get to play with all the free time and Friday fun stuff.”
–PDL 2nd Grader
“Yeah! They really want to go on the playground but they can’t.”
–LCH Kindergartener
“Everyone went crazy once because it was pounding hard, and there was a little bit of hail, and if you went outside, it would hurt, how hard it was coming down.”
–Capri 3rd Grader
At the school board meeting, some Ocean Knoll 6th graders shared their amazing exhibition project about cyber bullying. We asked some EUSD kids, what’s up with bullies?
“They feel lonely and they don’t have anything to do, and they’re bored, and they don’t make very smart decisions, so they’re just like, ok!”
–OK 1st Grader
“Sometimes people bully because something rough happened on them, and they just take it out on other people. Or maybe they had something bad happen to them, and they’re really sad, or mad or frustrated. If something bad happened to them, they should take deep breaths, and think about what they’re gonna say before they say it. And if someone else did something mean to them, don’t bully them back, and instead, like, use your words to say how you’re feeling.”
–PDL 2nd Grader
“Well, in my school there’s not that much bullies. But if I saw one, I would say, could you please stop that, it doesn’t seem nice.”
–PEC Kindergartener
